we name in adamant objects with affection. well, our pets too have well-thought-out and voted on names. they represent different eras of our life, experiences we have had, or places we have lived. our hunting dog’s name may be my personal favorite, brumby. But nevertheless, we name everything! so the first question my husband asked the kids was, what will we name the lake house.
we take the name very seriously. our car names are taken as seriously as our pet names. so why wouldn’t the lake have a name too! “a good name is to be chosen over great riches.” so we better take it seriously, I guess. naming the lake house was monumental, however, selecting the name was simple. on our first visit, we walked down to the dock and were taken aback by the incredible view of a nature haven, known commonly at lake sinclair, as optimist island. for us, to view the island on our first visit was a god-wink. we knew the location was perfect and we had our name. island view.
