do you read the last page of the book before you finish – to stop the anticipation, or fast forward while watching netflix? well there have been no shortcuts to making island view a home. as I sit today we have not seen the final product, but I know our happy ever after will come. and it is worth the wait.
- the first step I took was to find my inspiration. I cannot say enough about my peers who are creatives. whether their medium is websites, interior decorating, or painting – creativity is contagious, and I am here for it.
- secondly, I found a trustworthy contractor. and smart. don’t you love it when you work with someone who is way smarter than you? I am slightly scared for him that he learned to speak my language. we talk measurements; he texts them to me while we talk, because I won’t get them right. I forget, and he smiles and tells my husband again later. we talk ideas, and his are outside the box and unique.
- third. don’t give up. we are tired. my kids are tired. we have spent the summer dodging covid and sleeping in bunk beds, but I know our family is making memories that will last a lifetime. The joy I see on their faces kneeboarding, or when my daughter learned to ski, or my son with our puppy in the water. These are the days we will remember.
